Teatro Massimo Debut in 2016 – ‘Madama Butterfly’

Next season, Brian Jagde makes his debut in Sicily at Palermo’s famed Teatro Massimo, as Lt. Pinkerton in a new production of Puccini’s Madama Butterfly – September 16, 18, 21 & 24, 2016. This has become a signature role for Mr. Jagde, who has been heralded as “the ideal Pinkerton” and a “first rate Puccini tenor” in his performances at San Francisco Opera and the Royal Opera House in London.

Jagde is joined by a thrilling international cast for this Nicola Berloffa-directed production, including Hui He in the title role, Anna Malavasi as Suzuki, and Vladimir Stoyanov as Sharpless, with Jader Bignamini leading the Orchestra e Coro del Teatro Massimo.
