On March 3, Brian Jagde an an exciting roster of soloists will perform at the annual AIDS Gala hosted at the Oper am Rhein in Düsseldorf. The artists appear to raise funds and awareness for the German AIDS Foundation, in a performance conducted by Sascha Goetzel. VIP tickets which include a post-performance Gala Dinner are available in addition to concert tickets; visit the following link for more information.

Gala details:

This is an evening of fantastic voices, wonderful music and big hearts: the AIDS Gala at Opernhaus Düsseldorf is a classical music event of the highest quality which is a perfect example of how to combine the pleasures of music with making a contribution to a worthy and important cause. International singing stars and members of the Deutsche Oper am Rhein ensemble, together with Duisburger Philharmoniker and the Klassik Radio presenter Holger Wemhoff all donate their services free of charge in order to support the charity.

This enables all the proceeds from the 9th festive opera gala once again to benefit the German AIDS Foundation, which has been Germany’s largest relief organization for people with HIV/AIDS for 30 years. The German AIDS Foundation is also active internationally, especially in areas of Southern Africa affected by HIV. In 2016 the foundation was able to help 58 people who are HIV positive in Düsseldorf alone as well as funding a total of eight projects. In the whole of North Rhine-Westphalia, the foundation was able to help in a total of 468 individual cases – and behind each one of these lies someone with their own personal history.

The proceeds from the 9th festive opera gala will once again benefit the foundation’s aid projects in Düsseldorf, North Rhine-Westphalia and Mozambique. Because all the German AIDS Foundation’s work is privately financed, the proceeds of benefit events like this one are urgently required for it to continue to be able to help. You can support the foundation’s work by buying a ticket while also enjoying a wonderful opera gala!

Additional soloists:

Lea Desandre, Elsa Dreisig, Bogdan Baciu, Regula Mühlemann, Brenda Rae, Nicholas Brownlee, Leonardo Capalbo, Dorottya Láng, Michele Angelini, Adela Zaharia
