Brian Jagde makes his third role debut of the calendar year in Barcelona, as Enzo Grimaldo in Ponchielli’s epic La Gioconda at the Gran Teatre del Liceu, April 1, 4, 7, 10, 13 & 15. The starry cast features Iréne Theorin in the title role, Dolora Zajick as Laura Adorno, Ildebrando D’Arcangelo sings Alvise Badoero, Gabriele Viviani is Barnaba, and María José Montiel is La cieca. Guillermo García Calvo leads the orchestra for all performances, with stage direction and design by Pier Luigi Pizzi. Audiences worldwide can experience this production via a radio broadcast (April 4 – Catalunya Música) and a cinema broadcast (April 10).
