On July 11, 14 & 17, Brian Jagde performs at Madrid’s Teatro Real for the first time, as Macduff in Verdi’s Macbeth. He sings amongst a starry cast, including Maestro Plácido Domingo in the title role, Anna Pirozzi as Lady Macbeth, and Ildebrando D’Arcangelo as Banco. This engagement is featured as a highlight of the Real’s summer season, and will be performed in concert. James Conlon leads the Chorus and Orchestra of the Teatro Real for all dates, part of the final presentations of the theater’s 2016/17 season.

The debut is especially auspicious for Mr. Jagde, as it marks his first time sharing the stage with Maestro Domingo. Jagde was previously honored with both Second Prize and the Birgit Nilsson Prize for Wagner/Strauss repertoire at Domingo’s 2012 Operalia competition.
