Brian Jagde’s upcoming performances as Cavaradossi in Puccini’s Tosca at Wiener Staatsoper on March 20, 23 & 26, have been canceled due to the coronavirus. Mr. Jagde was set to make his much-anticipated house debut in Margarethe Wallmann’s classic 1958 production of Tosca this month, under the baton of Giampaolo Bisanti.

Due to the coronavirus, the Wiener Staatsoper has canceled all of its remaining March performances. The company stated, “following the Austrian Federal government’s decision which has just been announced, all performances and events of the Vienna Wiener Staatsoper will be provisionally canceled as of today until 31 March.”

They added, “All customers will be directly contacted by the various organizers over the next few days, if possible. Tickets for events from 10 to 31 March 2020 may be returned until 30 June 2020 against reimbursement of the purchase price. Holders of subscriptions, flexible subscription, and cycles will be informed separately by the Wiener Staatsoper.”
