‘La Forza del Destino’ at The Metropolitan Opera

On February 26, Brian Jagde returns to The Metropolitan Opera to star as Don Alvaro in Verdi’s La Forza del Destino. The production, directed by Mariusz Treliński, marks the first time in thirty years a new staging of Forza will premiere at the Met. Performances continue on March 1, 4, 9, 12, 16, 21, 24 & 29; on March 9 the production will also receive a Met Live in HD international cinema broadcast, marking Mr. Jagde’s debut in the series.

The cast also features Lise Davidsen (Leonora), Igor Golovatenko (Don Carlo), Judit Kutasi (Preziosilla), Patrick Carfizzi (Fra Melitone), and bass Soloman Howard (Leonora’s father and Padre Guardian), with Metropolitan Opera Music Director Yannick Nézet-Séguin on the podium.
